Ingredients
Scale
- For the salad:
- 4 cups romaine lettuce chopped
- 1/2 cup sharp cheddar cheese cubes
- 1 cup cherry tomatoes, halved
- 1/4 cup sliced red onions
- dill pickle slices, as desired ( I used midgets)
- 4 slices applewood smoked bacon, roughly chopped and cooked until crips
- 3/4 cup croutons ( I made mine but purchased one will work just as well).
- For the burger:
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1/4 cup onion minced
- 1 tablespoon steak sauce
- 1/2 teaspoon each salt and pepper
- Dressing:
- 1/4 cup light mayo
- 1 tablespoons mustard
- 1tablespoon ketchup
- 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
- 2 teaspoons pickle juice
- 2 tablespoons skim milk
Instructions
- Place chopped romaine on a serving platter. Add the remaining ingredients in rows across the lettuce starting in the middle with the ground beef mixture. I put the ground beef in the middle and half of the remaining ingredients on each side….easier to serve. You can also do individual plates.
- Serve dressing on the side.
Notes
Serves tow for a hearty main course but can serve four as a lighter meal.
