- 12 Lofthouse or other soft frosted cookie
- 1 recipe Buttercream frosting ( see recipe)
- Sprinkles, or other cake/cookie decorations of your choice
- Frosting
- 1 cup butter softened
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 teaspoon almond extract
- 4 cups powdered sugar
- 3–4 tablespoons of milk
- Pinch of salt
Instructions
- For each cake using a small cookie cutter cut cookies into desired shape. Cookie cutter should see slightly small than the size of the cookie.
- Gently press cut cookie shapes with frosting sides together, using a bit of frosting if necessary.
- Frost cookies as you would a cake. I do the sides first then the top. I do a crumb coat, a thin layer of frosting, then pop them into the refrigerator for about 20 minutes. Then frost again, this covers any crumbs that may show through.
- Decorate as you wish, with sprinkles and frosting.
