August is National Peach month ……I’m a little early this year. In years past I have been a tad late with peach recipes……C’est la vie. Peach Almond Upside Down Cake and Grilled Peach Goat Cheese Salad are two of my favorite peach recipes. Click the links to try these recipes.
In the Midwest, really good peaches have a short window of time to enjoy….that time is NOW! Peach cobbler or crisp is always tasty, but when it’s 90 degrees in the shade, who wants to bake???…..not this gal!!
Grilled peaches are super simple to make and grilling brings out their juiciness and intensifies their sweetness. Spraying the cut side of peaches with a nonstick cooking spray and placing them on a medium grill for less than five minutes give you the start of a beautifully delicious dessert.
Grilled Peaches with Vanilla Yogurt Creams a simple yet elegant dessert that can be casual or fancy smancy, and anyone can make it!! Yes I mean you 😉
As I have mentioned in past posts, I belong to Weight Watchers ,and count those points. Let’s just say I have fallen off the point wagon……ugh!!
Greek Yogurt is a staple in point counting…at least for me. Sweet or savory it lends a tangy creaminess, and such is the case with the Vanilla Yogurt Cream in this recipe. Using Fage ….0% fat greek yogurt and Cool Whip Lite this dessert is only 3 points!!
Yogurt with a touch of sugar, vanilla bean, and whipped topping creates the perfect creamy topping for grilled peaches. It comes together in seconds and holds well. We tried leftover yogurt cream with raspberries and it was equally delicious.
In an omaĝe to the peach crisp,I used Honey Bunches of Oats Granola – French Vanilla Almond, that we toasted and sprinkled on top of the Grilled Peaches with Vanilla Yogurt Cream. Beautifully crunchy and a great vanilla almond taste!
