Pinterest is always a treasure trove of ideas when it comes to recipe ideas….ok for anything, but I write a food blog, and recipes are my life!! I LOVE CHOCOLATE, there I said it. So when I saw a recipe for a chocolate pistachio cake, I saw cupcakes. Dark Chocolate Pistachio Cupcakes to be exact.
Having adapted a recipe from Jen at Baked By An Introvert, I have created quite possibly the best cupcakes I have ever made. Rich dark and chocolaty, with a hint of pistachio flavor, and pretty to boot! If you are looking for an impressive cake, follow Jenn’s recipe it has an extra chocolate component of ganache…yum!!!!
I love cake, but what is a cupcake but a personal cake? Easier to decorate, easier to store, easier to tote with you. Cupcakes are simply the best desserts.

It’s hard to believe Halloween is just a month away. If you are in need of some extra special treats, here are three treat-rific ideas for your Halloween!!
Peanut Butter Spider Cookies
These little cuties take the scary out of spiders. The original recipes from A Spicy Perspective and was a huge hit on Facebook and Pinterest back in 2014.
Although I am not a fan of a peanut butter cookie….don’t judge! These were easy to make, and cute as can be. Any cookie that has a truffle on top is my kind of cookie.
In the original post, I eluded to not being able to find the googly eyes, but they are mainstream these days and well…….Amazon!
Again with the googly eyes. Dark rich chocolate cupcakes decorated to look like a bubbling cauldron.
Not nearly as intimidating as they look to make, green tinted frosting is decorated with edible candies. Red striped birthdays candles for witch legs with witches shoes attached with a dab of frosting.
These are by far my favorite Halloween treat…..but I do love cake!!!!
This recipe…..once I got the dipping part right was super easy. Let me correct that….once I got the candy coating right. See… I tried to add food coloring to white melting chocolate, take my word for it and save yourself some$$$ ( I had to throw away $5 of chocolate… it seized up when the color was added). Buy colored melts. They come in almost any color and work like a dream.
Bugles are a blast from the past for me, we used to put them on our fingers and pretend to have witches fingers…..I seem to remember the Bugles being larger. I guess maybe it just me….oh yeah….I’m larger….lol
Witches Fingers are a sweet-salty treat sure to satisfy any ghost or goblin. Place them in a plastic cauldron for a cute presentation.
Try any of these treats for Halloween party or as treats for your trick or treaters!!
Last week I had a huge hankering for a chocolate cake! Little did I realize this would be the Best Ever Dark Chocolate Cake!
As I’m writing this post today, I see that today is National Dessert Day…..how fitting.
Have you ever had a dessert/cake that was so delicious that you could eat it until you were sick? Well this is that cake! Continue reading “Best Ever Dark Chocolate Cake”
