Halloween Treats

Halloween Treats

It’s hard to believe Halloween is just a month away. If you are in need of some extra special treats, here are three treat-rific ideas for your Halloween!!

Peanut Butter Spider Cookies

Peanut Butter Spider Cookies

These little cuties take the scary out of spiders. The original recipes from A Spicy Perspective and was a huge hit on Facebook and Pinterest back in 2014.

Although I am not a fan of a peanut butter cookie….don’t judge! These were easy to make, and cute as can be. Any cookie that has a truffle on top is my kind of cookie.

In the original post, I eluded to not being able to find the googly eyes, but they are mainstream these days and well…….Amazon!

Cauldron Cupcakes

Cauldron Cupcakes 5

Again with the googly eyes. Dark rich chocolate cupcakes decorated to look like a bubbling cauldron.

Not nearly as intimidating as they look to make, green tinted frosting is decorated with edible candies. Red striped birthdays candles for witch legs with witches shoes attached with a dab of frosting.

These are by far my favorite Halloween treat…..but I do love cake!!!!

Witches Fingers

Witches Fingers

This recipe…..once I got the dipping part right was super easy. Let me correct that….once I got the candy coating right. See… I tried to add food coloring to white melting chocolate, take my word for it and save yourself some$$$ ( I had to throw away $5 of chocolate… it seized up when the color was added). Buy colored melts. They come in almost any color and work like a dream.

Bugles are a blast from the past for me, we used to put them on our fingers and pretend to have witches fingers…..I seem to remember the Bugles being larger. I guess maybe it just me….oh yeah….I’m larger….lol

Witches Fingers are a sweet-salty treat sure to satisfy any ghost or goblin. Place them in a plastic cauldron for a cute presentation.

Try any of these treats for Halloween party or as treats for your trick or treaters!!

Cranberry Almond Bakery Cookies

What’s better than a thick chewy bakery style cookie? NOTHING!! Cranberry Almond Bakery Cookies …..oh yeah!!!

Cranberry Almond Bakery Cookies

I have mentioned before that I used to manage a bakery. Said bakery was in a grocery store, so volume was king. It would have been impossible to make all of the choices from scratch. So, we did what I fondly called fake and bake.

If you can decorate it or add a little something to the flavor it’s a win! Cookies for us came in the form of frozen pucks. All you had to do was put them on a cookie sheet and bake them. They were surprisingly good.

But alas, they were not homemade 🙁 These days I do not need to produce in bulk, so creativity and made from scratch are the order of the day.

I love cookies…….sigh! I love cranberries…..sigh! I love almonds……sigh! All three together…….Woot!!

I wanted to make an extra special, bakery style cookie. Big, chewy, and full of flavor. Continue reading “Cranberry Almond Bakery Cookies”

Every once in a while you make something that is sooo good……Salted Caramel Shortbread Cookies are it!!!
When I was a kid, my Grandma always had several goodies at her house…….. M&M’s, Ding Dong’s (in the frig) and shortbread cookies. I have always loved shortbread cookies, and my Grandma had the kind that came in the blue tin. Once it was empty she used it for sewing stuff……buttons, thread and the like. I helped her empty many a tin…… Continue reading “Salted Caramel Shortbread Cookies”
